A new LACUNY Roundtable has been formed for mentoring library faculty. The mission of the Library Faculty Mentoring Roundtable is to offer cross-campus support and encouragement for library faculty on the tenure-track. The mentoring program/project will pair senior library faculty with untenured assistant and associate professors to provide individualized support and help new faculty with acclimation to the CUNY environment, professional growth, development, and advancement in rank and in the profession. Because of varying individual campus requirements for tenure and promotion, this relationship will be limited to informal advice on research, publishing, and professional associations. The roundtable held its first meeting on December 9 at the Graduate Center.
