Milestones

Monica Berger (City Tech) has been promoted to associate professor.

Stanton Biddle (Baruch) has been given a two-year reassignment to the Provost’s Office to coordinate Baruch’s Middle States reaccreditation review.

Dean Bryan joined the Office of Library Systems as Director of Library Systems on August 28.  Dean had been Director of Automation and Technology Services for Chicago’s Metropolitan Library System.  A graduate of the Berklee College of Music, Dean has an MLS from the University of Arizona.

Jane Fitzpatrick has been granted tenure.

Stephen Francoeur (Baruch) has been granted tenure.

Caroline Fuchs left the Graduate Center, where she had been in charge of special collections, to take a position at St. John’s in August.

Laroi Lawton (Bronx) has been granted tenure.

Christina Miller (York) has been appointed School Library Media Specialist.  She had been an adjunct at York since 2003.

Josephine Murphy (Kingsborough) has been named Acting Chief Librarian following the resignation of Edward Owusu-Ansah.

Kanu Nagra (Borough of Manhattan) has been appointed Electronic Resources Librarian.

Aisha Pena (Baruch) has been granted tenure.

Mariana Regalado (Brooklyn) has been granted tenure and promoted to Associate Professor.

Kevin Reiss has been appointed University Systems Librarian at the Office of Library Services.  Kevin had been systems librarian at the Graduate Center for two years.

Linda Roccos (Staten Island) served as Acting Chief Librarian while Wilma Jones was on sabbatical during the fall semester.

Scott Sheidlower (York) has been granted tenure.

Maura Smale (City Tech) has been appointed Information Literacy Librarian.  Previously an adjunct reference and instruction library at Brooklyn, Maura has an MLIS from Pratt and a Ph.D. in anthropology from NYU.

Lisa Tappeinir (Hostos) has been appointed Interim Chief Librarian, replacing Lucinda Zoe, who has been named Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost.  Lisa has been the Head of Technical Services and Collection Management.
