A&D: Balancing the Analog & the Digital During the Launch of a Makerspace in an Academic Library Environment

  • Wednesday, November 13, 2019
  • 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM
  • City Tech, NAMM building, room N119

Hosted by the LACUNY Emerging Technologies Roundtable

A look at the funding origins of the QC Makerspace, perhaps one of CUNY's first "full-service" makerspaces, hosted in the Benjamin S. Rosenthal Library building & department at Queens College. Highlights will include analog environments, digital dashboards, plugging into the library’s mission, and future growth initiatives (notably the recent announcement of a 5-year NSF Award to study the impact of makerspace-centric "design thinking" and project-based learning on undergraduate retention rates at an Hispanic-Serving Institution).
