The Jay Bernstein Memorial Scholarship is an annual award given in memory of the late Jay Bernstein, a librarian at Kingsborough Community College. He worked across many disciplines and published work on diverse topics including: shamanism, ethnobotany, Patti Smith, and transdisciplinarity- see CUNY Academic Works
Jay particularly valued scholarship as a critical component of our work as librarians and this annual award will honor Jay’s scholarly legacy and recognize the scholarly achievements of a CUNY librarian. In recognition of this award, LACUNY membership dues will be waived for the following year after receiving this award. As well as, LACUNY Institute fees will be waived for the awardee the following year as well.
Nominations and Applications are due April 28th. Winners will be announced at the upcoming LACUNY Spring Membership meeting.
